Job summary

Dex is seeking a Staff/Principal Data Engineer to own the technical direction of data infrastructure within a partner environment. You will combine software and data engineering with architectural leadership, shaping scalable data systems and governance.

You’ll define patterns for data acquisition, processing and integration, and mentor teams while staying hands-on with code and production systems to drive robust, scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience building data-intensive production systems in modern data platforms.
• Ability to lead and coordinate engineers beyond your own code.
• Strong judgment on data quality, scalability, and security in large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data acquisition, ingestion, processing, and integration systems for large, experiential datasets.
• Build core infrastructure for data quality, sanitisation, security, and privacy across the platform.
• Establish reusable data patterns and frameworks for other engineers to build on robust foundations.
• Identify architectural limitations and lead transitions to more scalable, resilient solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical direction and mentorship, staying close to code and production systems.
