Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to shape the reliability strategy for the Athena Core team within Markets Technology. You will lead a team, drive resiliency reviews, and mentor engineers across multiple domains.

The role focuses on incident leadership, service-level governance, and AI-enhanced reliability workflows to prevent outages and enable rapid recovery. Excellent technical breadth and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and applied experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices
• An understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to improve SRE workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
• A strong understanding of Linux, observability, and telemetry collection
• Proficient with CI/CD practices and tooling
• Proficient with containerization and orchestration
• Experience with troubleshooting networking technologies
• Advanced knowledge and ongoing self-education in technical disciplines

Responsibilities

• Lead site reliability initiatives to improve the reliability and stability of applications and platforms using data-driven analytics
• Drive collaboration to establish service level indicators and objectives with stakeholders
• Lead major incident management and post-incident analysis
• Leverage AI capabilities to accelerate triage, troubleshooting, and analysis
• Be the main contact during major incidents and provide rapid resolution guidance
• Mentor engineers and share expertise across domains
• Promote reuse-first AI-enabled reliability workflows in CI/CD, testing, and readiness
• Provide first-line support for the Athena Core team
