Job summary

JPMorganChase in London seeks a Senior Lead Engineer within the Market Risk Technology SRE team to define non-functional requirements and availability targets, ensure SLIs/SLOs, and align them with production readiness.

You will mentor engineers, design reliability solutions for complex systems, leverage enterprise AI capabilities for incident analysis, and drive AI-assisted workflows across the SDLC while maintaining security and auditability.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java.
• Advanced understanding of site reliability culture and principles and a track record of implementing SRE within an application or platform.
• Observability experience including monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and telemetry collection.
• Experience using enterprise AI capabilities to improve reliability workflows with strong validation and data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to set safe AI usage practices in operations while maintaining resiliency and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Creates and delivers high quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters with the engineering team.
• Mentors technologists and champions site reliability adoption within the team and culture.
• Collaborates to implement observability and reliability designs for complex systems that are robust and low-toil.
• Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate reliability design, incident analysis, and traceability.
• Drives evolution and debugging of critical components by understanding interdependencies.
• Provides guidance, tools, and solutions to support firm growth in reliability practices.
• Contributes to JPMorganChase's site reliability community through forums and guilds.
• Leads reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC and toolchains, ensuring traceability, resiliency, and security controls.
