Job description

This Specification Sales Manager covering London & the South‑East region will see you focus on winning product specifications for heat pumps, hot water heat pumps and ventilation systems across residential new build and retrofit projects. You will work closely with developers M&E consultants and M&E contractors to build a strong project pipeline and support schemes from early design through to completion. The role suits someone who enjoys being out with customers who is confident presenting technical solutions and who understands low carbon heating and UK building regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Secure new product specifications with developers, M&E consultants and M&E contractors across London and the wider commuter belt region.
  • Develop and deliver CPD and product presentations to consultants, contractors and wider industry stakeholders.
  • Manage the full project journey from early design discussions and technical selection through to order support and final delivery.
  • Build, maintain and grow relationships with M&E consultants, M&E contractors and distribution partners to increase product adoption.
  • Drive regional project pipeline growth and contribute to overall margin and revenue targets.
  • Identify, qualify and develop new project opportunities that align with the wider commercial strategy.
  • Support M&E contractors and distribution networks with technical guidance and commercial support.
  • Maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date CRM with clear records of contacts, projects, activities and next actions.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant UK building regulations and industry standards across residential and retrofit applications.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales operations and finance, to ensure a joined‑up and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Represent the business professionally at client meetings, site visits, industry events and training sessions.
Qualifications
  • A strong background in specification sales or technical sales in heating, heat pumps, HIUs, hot water heat pumps or related low‑carbon technologies.
  • Existing network within the HIU and hot water heat pump market is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations relevant to residential heating and low‑carbon systems.
  • Proven success winning product specifications with developers, consultants and contractors.
  • Established relationships within the M&E community across London and surrounding regions.
  • Experience delivering CPD presentations and technical product briefings.
  • Confident managing multiple technical projects from concept design through to completion.
  • Good understanding of residential development and retrofit markets with the ability to influence key decision makers.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and working to a structured sales and project activity plan.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills with strong personal organisation.
  • Positive, proactive and collaborative mindset that fits a supportive and ambitious team culture.
  • Technical qualification in engineering, building services or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
