Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) on a full or part-time basis. The post will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital and will primarily support the delivery of our Memory Clinic service.
The North Tyneside Mental Health Services for Older People is based within North Tyneside General Hospital and provides Psychiatric services for older people within much of North Tyneside. The North Tyneside Memory Clinic is based within a specialist department within North Tyneside General Hospital and offers clinic and home visit appointments. The service receives approximately 800 referrals a year and provides assessment, diagnostic, and post diagnostic support for those with possible dementia. The post holder would be primarily based in the Memory Service, supporting diagnosis and treatment of patients with dementia.
The post holder would work with other members of the MDT within the Memory Service, including nursing staff, OT, Psychology and Nursing assistants and is supported by an excellent admin team. There is Consultant input into the Memory Clinic, and we have a full-time F1 doctor and GP Registrar (split post Memory Clinic and Community Team). The team has a close working relationship and values all members of the MDT. The exact job plan will be agreed with the successful appointee.
The job plan will typically include an average of 8.5 Programmed Activities for Direct Clinical Care duties and 1.5 Programmed Activities for Supporting Professional Activities.

The post will be flexibly time‑tabled to meet the demands of the service and the timing of sessions may change as the service develops. The post will be based within MHSOP department, North Tyneside General Hospital.
The post will be based with North Tyneside Memory Clinic providing medical input within Memory Services.
