Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant - Therapeutic SEMH School - Thanet

Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant confident in theraputic practice to join a highly supportive, therapeutic school in the Thanet area. This specialist SEMH school provides a safe, structured and therapeutic environment for pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. Staff work collaboratively using trauma-informed and child-centred approaches, ensuring every young person receives personalised care and education that helps them thrive‑academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Implement therapeutic strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions and behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Assist in delivering creative, engaging learning activities
