Job description

You will work cross functionally to analyse and optimise space allocation across all Retail stores, ensuring the company space rules are defined and reviewed to grow sales and profit and also protect customer availability. You will be accountable for providing timely and accurate space performance insight which underpin macro space decisions across all project types including new stores, refits and also category space resets as part of the Rapid Reviews. You will play a key role in advancing our space performance toolkit, enhancing data reporting capabilities, and streamlining processes to simplify our ways of working.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Provide actionable macro space recommendations for all activity relating to category space resets, seasonal activity, property space programmes and ensures consistency of approach and adherence to timelines

  • Target and quantify improvements to sales and margin impacts as a result of macro space change proposals

  • Actively look for opportunities to simplify and speed up business processes and ways of working aligned to improving availability with a customer first mind-set

  • Take ownership to provide macro space recommendations for category space resets following the Rapid Review plan

  • Take ownership to provide space recommendations for business projects impacting macro space in our stores

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

Technical Expertise

  • Data Analysis & Modelling: Highly numerate with a proven track record of building complex data models and reports to drive commercial decisions.

  • Core Tools: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong SQL knowledge is essential.

  • Advanced Analytics (Desirable): Experience with Python and Google Looker is a significant plus.

Commercial & Industry Insight

  • Retail Experience: A deep understanding of the commercial retail environment and its unique challenges.

  • Strategic Planning (Desirable): Knowledge of space and layout planning to optimise retail performance.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships across different levels of the business.

  • Critical Thinking: A proactive problem solver and active listener who can translate data into actionable insights.

  • Collaborative Network: A strong professional "connector" who builds and maintains a supportive network of colleagues.
