Job summary

Young's Pubs in Farnham is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to be the anchor of a premium, design-led kitchen. You will work as the Head Chef's trusted second-in-command, leading a brigade, mentoring juniors, and driving fresh seasonal dishes in a high-volume service.

You will collaborate to write and launch innovative menus, manage GP targets and stock, and maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. This role offers growth as many Head Chef positions are filled internally.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with fresh, quality ingredients in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Active, hands-on leader who loves training and developing juniors.
• Ability to design, write and launch innovative menus and daily seasonal specials.
• Solid understanding of kitchen controls: GP targets, stock ordering, waste management, and labor efficiency.
• Maintain uncompromised standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
• Team-focused attitude bridging kitchen and front-of-house.
