The Steadings is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and work closely with the Head Chef to run the kitchen on a daily basis, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and service.

The ideal candidate will be a confident chef with strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to lead the kitchen team during busy services.

Competenze

• Experience as a sous chef or senior line cook within a busy kitchen.
• Ability to lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy services.
• Strong organisational skills and a positive, proactive approach.

Mansioni

• Support the Head Chef with the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes consistently to a high standard.
• Lead and supervise the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Ensure food quality, portion control and presentation standards are maintained.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries and minimising food waste.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Help train, support and develop junior members of the kitchen team.
• Ensure preparation is completed efficiently and the kitchen is ready for service.
• Work effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional approach.
