Job summary

PPM Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to join our client's kitchen team in Royston. The role supports the Head Chef and wider kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food and service.

The successful candidate will have proven Sous Chef experience, strong knowledge of food preparation and hygiene, and the ability to work well under pressure during busy service periods. Full-time/part-time opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or senior chef.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Reliable, hardworking and organised.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook food to a high standard.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented correctly.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock rotation and stock control.
• Minimise food waste and maintain kitchen organisation.
• Follow health & safety and food hygiene procedures.
• Support junior members of the kitchen team.
• Help ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
