Job summary

MorePeople is assisting a well-established garden centre in Norfolk in recruiting a Sous Chef to join the hospitality team. You will work closely with the Head Chef, help lead daily kitchen operations and contribute to menu development in a busy, public-facing restaurant focused on fresh, locally sourced produce.

You’ll be hands-on, motivated, and able to step in for the Head Chef as needed, bringing ideas to improve standards and the overall running of the operation.

Qualifications

• Experience within a busy restaurant, hospitality or commercial catering environment.
• Genuine passion for fresh food and high standards.
• Confidence to run the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Creative approach and an interest in developing new dishes and menus
• Good knowledge of food safety, legislation and compliance
• Hands-on approach with a good eye for detail
• Positive, can-do attitude and ability to support and motivate others

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef.
• Support the team and maintain high standards throughout service.
• Contribute to menu development and new dish ideas.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Be hands-on in a busy commercial kitchen and drive teamwork.
