Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting a Sous Chef for Thetford, Norfolk, to lead a kitchen brigade at a popular independent garden centre. The role offers creative freedom to design and implement new dishes while maintaining catering excellence.

Salary is from £30,000 plus tips, permanent full time with a rotating shift pattern including alternate weekends; excellent staff benefits include pension, wellbeing scheme and paid holidays.

Qualifications

Experience as a Sous Chef in a similar venue.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Passionate about food; enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take operation to the next level.

Responsibilities

Supervise the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.
To assist in the training and development of the catering staff.
To ensure that we have sufficient supplies to maintain the daily menu.
To organise the cooking and preparation and whatever is necessary to maintain the daily menu.
To attend a weekly meeting with the Catering Manager.
To ensure the team have completed the job lists provided and achieve what is expected.
To ensure all team members are productive and fully occupied.
To ensure daily breaks are taken.
To ensure all kitchen staff complete wastage and temperature records.
To provide the catering manager with a report for the monthly staff meeting.
To carry out the agreed procedures for Health and Safety and Food Safety.
To undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the catering manager.
To ensure regular performance reviews are carried out and recorded.

Salary: £30,000 + tips
Hours: Permanent, Full Time (Rotered Shift pattern - alternate weekends)
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
