Job summary

Gravity Recruit is helping a busy Bristol restaurant fill a Sous Chef position. The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced kitchen and mentorship of wok, line and salad chefs, with a strong emphasis on food safety and regulatory compliance.

The salary is up to £41,300 annually, comprised of a base £34,700 plus tron, with additional benefits and staff perks. The successful candidate will be hands-on, supportive and ready to lead in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in cooking fresh, vibrant and flavoursome dishes.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP compliance.
• Experience as second in command, mentoring wok, line and salad chefs.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef with managerial duties and mentor kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Cook and oversee the preparation of fresh, flavoursome dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.

Our clients kitchen has a wonderful team of chefs who work very hard and are great at what they do, so it's important we find the right Second Chef who is going to be supportive, friendly and hands-on, always ready to help in the different sections of the kitchen.

Annual salary offer of up to £41,300 is made up of a base annual salary £34,700 plus earnings received through tronc.

What Pho is looking for:

• Hands on chefs who are passionate about cooking fresh, vibrant and flavoursome food.
• Second Chef or Sous Chef with minimum x1 years' in role.
• Experience being second in command in a kitchen. Assisting both the Head Chef with managerial duties and being a mentor to our wok chefs, lines chefs and salad chefs.
• Strong knowledge in food safety and managing compliance within health and safety regulations
