Job summary

The Rose & Crown in Yealmpton is seeking a versatile Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen. You will support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team, ensuring each dish meets the highest standards and following our procedures to maintain quality and safety.

The role offers opportunities to adapt menus based on our locally sourced produce and guest needs. We value strong cooks who keep the kitchen organized, clean, and efficient, even during peak times, and who are confident using stock management

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to follow recipes and kitchen specifications.
• Strong team player with pride in cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in running kitchen operations.
• Ensure dishes meet specifications and quality standards.
• Adapt menu offerings using flexible writing processes to suit business needs.

Set in the beautiful village of Yealmpton, The Rose & Crown is a much-loved pub with accommodation that’s renowned for its food, cosy interior, and suntrap walled garden.

You’ll be working in the South Hams, largely an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is abundant with magnificent scenery. You’ll find breathtaking beaches, quality local food, history, culture, and enchanting woodland all moments away.

Are you aversatileSous Chef with experience of working in a fast-paced environment? Join our talented kitchen team and you’ll be working alongside passionate people, with locally sourced produce, to provide high quality food that delights our guests. As Sous Chef, you will support your Head Chef in leading our talented kitchen team while ensuring the correct procedures are followed and specifications for each dish are precisely met. You will utilise the flexibility enabled by our menu writing processes, to help adapt our offer to meet the needs of our business and our guests.
