Job summary

Mitchells & Butler­s plc is seeking a Sous Chef for the Cuckoo at Vintage Inns. You will lead a kitchen section, train and inspire the team, and step in for the Head Chef when needed to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

You will manage food ordering, preparation, and stock control, while upholding health and hygiene standards across the kitchen. Join us to contribute to a warm, branded pub dining experience.

Qualifications

• Sous Chef experience in branded pub/restaurant environments.
• Ability to train and inspire the kitchen team.
• Experience in food ordering and stock control.
• Proven leadership of chefs and wider kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of health and hygiene regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a kitchen section and ensure the team works cohesively as one unit.
• Step up to lead in the Head Chef's absence.
• Oversee food preparation, ordering, and stock control to meet brand standards.
