We're seeking an experienced Software & System Test Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of Assisted and Automated Driving (ADAS) technologies within our Health Management Platform Services Team. This role focuses on defining and executing the test plan and overall test strategy for health management features. You'll be instrumental in developing robust testing approaches, drawing on your deep understanding of AAD functions and platform services—such as feature degradation, fault monitoring and handling, and diagnostics. Your work will be grounded in thorough software requirements analysis and strong testing expertise. You'll actively contribute to the requirements review process, supporting software and system engineers in defining reliable AAD software and system requirements. Your deliverables will enable the verification and validation of health management features, including fault detection, fault logging, and system responses to faults—ensuring platform resilience and reliability across a range of operating conditions. Beyond test planning and execution, you'll help determine the appropriate level of automation and specify requirements for test tools such as logging equipment, Hardware-in-the-Loop benches, and automation frameworks. You'll apply suitable test techniques—both dynamic and static—and take ownership of designing and implementing test cases and supporting documentation.
What to Expect
- Analyse, review, and continuously improve software and system requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability
- Define and execute test plans and strategies for AAD platform services, with hands‑on involvement in validation and test automation
- Lead the development of high‑level test automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and coverage across all testing phases
- Specify detailed requirements for test tools and infrastructure, including logging equipment, Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HiL) systems, and automation frameworks
- Apply a range of dynamic and static test techniques to validate system behaviour under varied operating conditions
- Design and implement comprehensive test cases aligned with system requirements and functional expectations
- Collaborate with wider Verification & Validation teams to ensure consistency, while reviewing test results and identifying areas for improvement
Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience in testing Assisted and/or Automated Driving (ADAS) systems, with strong knowledge of ADAS functions, platform services, and health management systems—including function/feature degradation, low‑level hardware and software faults, and diagnostics
- Deep understanding of Systems Engineering principles, particularly the V‑Model, with a focus on requirements‑based testing, design verification and validation, and full requirements coverage
- Proven expertise in Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) processes and ISO 26262 functional safety standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices
- Strong grasp of AUTOSAR architecture (both Classic and Adaptive) and QNX operating systems, with practical experience in integrating these technologies into automotive platforms
- Skilled in modern test methods and techniques, including dynamic and static testing, with hands‑on experience in test automation and the use of Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HiL) systems for both open and closed loop testing
- Proficient in a range of tools and scripting languages including CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Python, UDS diagnostics, and the Trace32 debugger, supporting efficient test execution and data analysis
- Educated to degree level in a relevant technical discipline, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with other ADAS Verification & Validation (V&V) teams, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives
