👩💻 Software Development Manager - .Net, Azure and Web Services

📍 Location : Hybrid / Remote – Wakefield (2 days a week on-site)

💷 £80,000 – £90,000 + Benefits | Full Time

WRK digital are delighted to be shortlisting for a Software Development Manager to join an established LegalTech business in West Yorkshire. You'll be joining a talented team who are committed to creating a working environment and culture that is open and empowers colleagues, where everyone feels supported and can be their best selves.

As the Head of Software Development you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Application development strategy and to lead on the technical solution designs and architectural standards to support the business’s short- and long‑term business plan objectives.

The scope of the role includes leading the development roadmap for web applications that support the entire business, has an essential perspective both inside and outside the organisation (including the business and supply chain partners) and has a strong eye on technology developments both current and expected in the future within and beyond the Legal sector.

This role is accountable for designing and delivering high quality application solutions through direct line management of the internal development team of 6 Developers and Testing teams to achieve the businesses objectives, needs and requirements. In addition, it will include strong collaboration with both the Head of Digital Operations and Delivery Manager who together with this role, form the leadership team responsible for delivering a technology product and service environment which propels the business forward.

Required Technical Skills
  • Application development experience using .NET, C#
  • Strong understanding of front‑end technologies such as JavaScript including Angular or React.
  • Strong experience in designing cloud‑native applications and architectures.
  • Strong background in API design and integration patterns.
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud services and modern deployment practices.
  • Strong knowledge of development management tooling and approaches, including code control, collaboration, and test automation
  • Comprehensive Microsoft stack knowledge
  • Extensive experience of management of deploying and supporting in‑house developed applications.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in solution design and architecture (business and systems)
  • A good understanding of Low Code technologies and the implementation within a business environment.
  • Experience and understanding of cloud data architecture and solutions.

Salary & Benefits

There is a very competitive package with a starting salary of up to £90,000, alongside 25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays. There's an 5% Pension contribution. Its a 35 hour working week and the team take health and wellbeing very seriously. The role will be based from a West Yorkshire Head Office with the offer homeworking up to 4 days a week and flexible working that encourages a healthy work‑life balance.
