Overview

Would you like to develop leading edge business intelligent solutions or solve complex business challenges through insight? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer for our Microservices team. You will be working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements to design and deliver relevant and informative data feeds into business solutions to provide meaningful outputs to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements and rules into technical design specifications, including engaging directly with customers and eliciting requirements and potential UX designs
  • Build and deploy full stack web applications into the business, using an agile framework/methodology
  • Investigate and respond to incidents in a timely and responsive manner ensuring service level agreements have been achieved
  • Create user guides and standard operating procedures
Knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and experience of web development, including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS. As well as knowledge and understanding of material design.
  • Knowledge and understanding of front end and back end frameworks, such as VueJS, React and Node, .Net
  • Understanding of unit and end to end testing
  • Knowledge of web development CI/CD release pipelines, IDEs, Git and/or Docker
  • Knowledge of Authentication methods, such as LDAP, Active Directory, KeyCloak
  • Knowledge of architectural standards such as RESTful API
  • Knowledge and understanding of MSSQL / SQL, writing queries using multiple tables, and interpreting results
  • Working knowledge of microservices development

Salary: Up to £45,000 dependent on experience, as well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
