Location: Dudley Council (West Midlands)
Rate: Up to £38 per hour (Umbrella) - one of the highest rates across the West Midlands
Contract: Interim / Agency
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in the office each week

Overview

Dudley Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Assessments Team.

You will carry out comprehensive safeguarding assessments, manage risk effectively, and ensure children are protected from harm while receiving the right support at the right time.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake timely and robust Child and Family Assessments.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans in line with statutory guidance.
  • Work closely with families, partner agencies, and professionals to safeguard children.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and attend court when required.
  • Contribute to team development, reflective supervision, and practice improvement.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience within children's social care, particularly in assessments or safeguarding.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Able to manage a complex caseload within statutory timescales.
