Social Work – Assistant Team Manager, Leaving Care Team in Havering (UK), earning £41.10 Umbrella Hourly. Ongoing – 3 Months (with opportunity for extension). Hybrid

Step into an engaging opportunity with Havering as an Assistant Team Manager within the Leaving Care Team. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary under an umbrella arrangement. The position is available for an initial period of three months, with the possibility of extension, and operates in a hybrid model that allows for flexibility and balance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff within the Leaving Care Team.
  • Oversee complex casework with the assistance of the team’s two Advanced Practitioners.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support young people transitioning from care, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and coordinate duty weeks at the town hall campus to encourage team cohesion and face-to-face interactions.
  • Consult and collaborate with systemic practitioners to ensure high-quality care and innovative solutions for care leavers.
Requirements
  • Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a social worker, with specific experience in children and families, including assessments and statutory duties.
