Job description

We are looking for motivated and driven individuals with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of Older People, with experience of care within a highly complex yet rewarding environment.

The successful candidate will undertake the keyworker role, which involves creating, monitoring, and reviewing care plans, keeping accurate records of support planning, and ensuring the service user is offered opportunities, experiences, and care within their care plan. The role also involves promoting access to local community opportunities and enabling service users to live meaningful lives.

We provide ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people. Our care services include care homes, respite, STAR units, and day services.

The Person
  • Provide care and support that meets the Health and Social Care standards.
  • Work with other council services and partner agencies to support effective planning and delivery of care.
  • Work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.
  • Work towards the required qualification as specified by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Once qualified, inform the SSSC accordingly within the set timeframes.
  • Achieve registration with the SSSC within 6 months of starting the role, applying within 3 months of employment. Maintain registration by obtaining the necessary qualifications, completing Continuous Professional Learning (CPL), and submitting annual declarations via MySSSC.

Note: As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration after starting. You should begin your application promptly to ensure registration within six months. More details are in the role profile.

Additional requirements: Obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before confirmation of appointment. If you are not a passport holder of the UK, a work permit may be required.
