Overview

A private client requires a Personal Assistant to provide support with daily living, personal care, and social activities. Hours of work: 14½ hours per week. Rate of pay: £13.13.

Responsibilities
  • Be able to liaise with my wellbeing facilitator from Pobl;
  • Assist me with my personal needs;
  • Take me out in the community to build my independence and social skills;
  • Take me out to do activities that I enjoy, like going for coffee and shopping.
Desirable
  • I’d prefer if you have experience working with people who are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder/emotionally unstable personality disorder.
Support and daily living
  • Personal hygiene, such as helping me wash my body and hair;
  • Helping plan, prepare, and cook meals;
  • Help with cleaning my home;
  • Liaising/assisting with medical queries and appointments (e.g., GP);
  • Taking my medication when needed (training and support provided).
Position requirements
  • Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality;
  • Be confident, mature and have patience;
  • Be dependable and arrive on time;
  • Be friendly with an easy-going manner;
  • Be adaptable and flexible;
  • Be supportive but not take over;
  • Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
  • A six-month probationary period will apply in the first instance;
  • Salary will be paid monthly; annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis;
  • A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where eligible.
