Job summary

Landmarc Support Services Limited is seeking a Site Operative to look after training estate facilities and support Armed Forces training across the UK Defence Training Estate.

The role covers cleaning, waste sorting, and building/grounds maintenance to keep the training environment safe and efficient. Training will be provided for equipment operation and safety practices, and a UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in general housekeeping and building/grounds maintenance.
• Good understanding of health & safety practices and risk assessments.
• Effective communication and team contribution.
• Basic IT skills and ability to complete documentation using IT or paper systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general cleanliness across camp facilities.
• Carry out waste collection, sorting and recycling.
• Support operation of compactors and baling machines (training provided).
• Operate plant equipment such as trailers and forklifts (training provided).
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles.
• Complete planned and reactive building and grounds maintenance.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including ablutions and accommodation blocks.
• Handover and take back site facilities from facility users.
• Manage cleaning and maintenance stock.
• Complete documentation using IT and paper-based systems.
• Carry out any other additional requirements as needed.

Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Site Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for looking after the Training Estate facilities, typical tasks will include collecting, sorting and separating waste into recycling streams, cleaning accommodation blocks and maintaining the grounds and buildings to ensure a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to stay while they train. Landmarc provides the essential support services that enable Armed Forces to train for frontline operations across the UK Defence Training Estate. We maintain safe, sustainable infrastructure, operate training areas and ranges, and deliver major projects that enhance vital military training assets. What You'll Do

Key Competences

• General housekeeping, caretaking, building and grounds maintenance knowledge
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Effective communicator and positive team contributor
• Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet and complete documentation
• Willingness to undertake further training
• Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence
• Willingness to be vaccinated against workplace risks (paid for by the company)
