Job summary

Envisage Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Document Controller to join a major construction and regeneration project in Luton. You will manage the CDE, control drawings and technical documentation, and ensure accurate, traceable records on a long-term, site-based role.

The ideal candidate has prior document control experience in large-scale construction, with strong Excel, PDF handling and knowledge of CDE/EDMS platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Document Controller in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation and drawing control.
• Experience using a CDE/EDMS such as Aconex, Asite, Procore, Viewpoint/4Projects.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 principles and structured information management.
• Familiarity with BIM-related information and drawing processes.
• Excellent Excel and PDF documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project's Common Data Environment (CDE) and/or electronic document management system.
• Control uploading, reviewing, issuing and distribution of drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Maintain document registers, revision histories, transmittals and distribution records.
• Monitor document workflows and ensure timely issue to stakeholders.
• Quality checks on revisions, metadata, numbering and status codes.
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, site instructions and related records.
• Ensure superseded information is identified and controlled to prevent on-site use.
• Collaborate with Site Managers, Engineers, Project Managers and Subcontractors to maintain information flow.
• Produce regular status reports and monitor outstanding reviews and overdue docs.
• Assist with audits and ensure information management procedures are followed.
