The Role

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and control of project information, ensuring documentation is correctly registered, reviewed, distributed and archived.

Working closely with the project management, engineering, design and subcontractor teams, you will help ensure that everyone is working from the latest approved information and that project records remain accurate and fully traceable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the project's Common Data Environment (CDE) and/or electronic document management system.
  • Control the uploading, reviewing, issuing and distribution of drawings, specifications, calculations, models and technical documentation.

  • Produce regular document control and information status reports for the project management team.
  • Monitor outstanding reviews, approvals and overdue documentation.
  • Assist with project audits and ensure information management procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain structured electronic filing systems and support the preparation of project information for handover and completion.
  • Support the wider project team with document control and information management requirements as the development progresses.

You should have:

  • Proven experience working as a Document Controller within construction.
  • Experience working on complex, high-volume projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation and drawing control.

  • An understanding of BIM-related information and construction drawing processes.
  • Experience working with structural, civil, groundworks or reinforced concrete packages would be advantageous.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and PDF documentation.
