Job summary

Kingdom Group is recruiting for a professional and customer-focused Security Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis at The Harpur Centre, Bedford. You will help maintain a safe and secure atmosphere for customers, retailers, contractors and visitors, following site security procedures while delivering excellent customer service.

This retail environment offers varied shifts with potential for progression and full training.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence (Essential)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular internal and external patrols of the shopping centre
• Monitor CCTV and site security systems where applicable
• Provide a visible security presence throughout the centre
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and customer enquiries
• Prevent loss, theft, damage, and anti-social behaviour
• Complete accurate incident reports and site documentation
• Monitor contractor and visitor access procedures
• Liaise with centre management, retailers, and emergency services when required
• Ensure compliance with site procedures, health & safety, and security policies
• Deliver excellent customer service to visitors and tenants
