Job summary

Cys Security Ltd seeks a dedicated Security Officer to create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues in our Harrogate store. You’ll be a calm, confident presence, delivering great service while protecting people, products and procedures.

In this fast-paced retail setting you’ll respond to incidents, prevent loss, use mobile reporting and body‑worn cameras, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of safety and customer care.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience preferred.
• A valid SIA licence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, confident and professional approach.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, welcoming and secure environment for customers and colleagues in store.
• Prevent loss and respond to incidents, protecting the retail environment.
• Identify risks and support safe ways of working.
• Utilise store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support operations and incident management.
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally in all scenarios.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards and positive store atmosphere.

Join us as a Security Officer, where you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues. We're looking for confident, customer-focused individuals who can combine strong awareness with a warm and approachable attitude. You'll be a visible presence in store, helping customers feel supported while playing an important role in keeping the business safe and secure.

• Being digitally confident is essential. You'll use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
• You'll stay calm under pressure. Whether responding to challenging situations or supporting emergency procedures, you'll always act professionally and confidently.
