Job summary

Lyde Green Primary School is seeking an experienced SENDCo or skilled SEND practitioner for a short-term leadership role from September 2026 to December 2026 to cover a period of absence.

Working 0.4fte (2 days a week), you will oversee SEND provision, lead referrals and annual reviews, coordinate with health professionals and Local Authority teams, and ensure timely, compliant delivery of statutory duties. This is an immediate-start role in a growing two-site primary setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as SENDCo or skilled SEND practitioner.
• Ability to manage statutory processes with minimal induction.
• Clear, calm, collaborative communication with staff, families and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SEND provision and ensure statutory duties are met and deadlines kept.
• Lead on referrals, annual reviews, monitoring documentation and other statutory submissions.
• Hold structured meetings with families to keep them informed and confident.
• Maintain strong liaison with health professionals, Local Authority teams and partners.
