Job summary

Bawnmore Infant School is seeking an experienced SENDCo to join from January 2027 on a temporary basis for two terms. The role offers flexible working options and may be non-teaching or combined with teaching duties, with two afternoons per week for PPA cover.

The successful candidate will lead SEND provision for pupils, work with families and external agencies, oversee EHCP reviews and provide guidance to staff, contributing to ongoing school improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting SEND provision in a primary setting.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to inclusion and achieving the best outcomes for all children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and external agencies to support pupils and monitor progress.
• Oversee EHCP reviews, referrals and SEND documentation.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to teachers and support staff.
• Monitor the effectiveness of SEND provision and contribute to school improvement.
