Job summary

Gist in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Warehouse Section Leader to oversee a shift and drive day-to-day operations. You will coordinate resources, monitor performance, and ensure safe, efficient activity across the shift.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges. It offers a 4 on 4 off pattern and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a busy warehouse/logistics setting.
• Strong SAP/WMS experience and ability to read operational reports.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across shifts and teams.
• KPI awareness with a proactive approach to safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support daily resource planning to ensure the right people are in the right areas.
• Coordinate warehouse and outbound activity to move products safely and on time.
• Monitor KPIs and support actions to improve performance.
• Produce and maintain operational reports using systems and MS Office.
• Support sickness, holidays and colleague availability across the shift.
• Assist with people-related activity including attendance and return-to-work conversations.
• Provide clear direction to colleagues and ensure priorities and standards are understood.
• Support induction and development of new starters and training compliance.
• Identify issues or risks and resolve them with the wider team.
• Champion health and safety and maintain a compliant environment.
• Support wider warehouse activity as priorities change.
