Job summary

Gist is recruiting a Warehouse Section Leader in Portbury to support a 4-on, 4-off operation from 10:00 to 22:00. You will coordinate activity, support the shift, monitor KPIs and drive safe, efficient warehouse performance.

You’ll work closely with the Warehouse Shift Manager, ensuring attendance, people processes, reporting and timely handovers across the operation. A hands-on leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, logistics or fast-paced operational environments.
• Ability to coordinate activity and support others.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Experience with SAP or similar WMS and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Support daily resource planning to ensure right people are in the right areas.
• Coordinate warehouse and outbound activity for timely, safe product movement.
• Monitor KPIs and assist actions to improve performance.
• Produce and maintain operational reports using systems and MS Office.
• Support sickness, holidays and staff availability across the shift.
• Assist the Warehouse Shift Manager with employee relations when required.
• Provide clear direction and hands-on support during the shift.
• Help induct and develop new starters and ensure training requirements are met.
• Identify operational risks and work with the team to resolve them.
• Champion health and safety and ensure a compliant work environment.
