Job summary

One Stop Stores Ltd., a Tesco subsidiary, is hiring a Shift Leader to coordinate store operations and lead a team to deliver a seamless shopping experience in the community.

You will manage openings and closures, support seasonal and charity events, maintain store presentation, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction while guiding colleagues through daily priorities and break schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers, colleagues and safety
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day-to-day queries
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well presented
• Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to our customers
• Ensure POS and shelf labels reflect what good looks like
• Take immediate action for overcharges and prevent recurrence
• Manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip
• Coordinate breaks to fit around trade patterns
• Be knowledgeable about the store and drive improvements
• Follow health and safety routines
• Deliver clear team communication
• Share ideas to simplify operations with the Store Manager
• Put customer first in everything
• Resolve customer queries promptly with a smile
• Tailor service to meet customer needs
• Recognise colleagues for great service
• Remove obstacles to service
• Resolve colleagues' queries or escalate to Store Manager as needed
• Ensure staffing coverage during absences
• Be a recognised Keyholder for store security
• Monitor and act on internal communications
• Feedback issues to Store Manager
• Balance time between service and replenishment
• Support absence management and return-to-work interviews
• Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner for timely issue resolution
