Job summary

One Stop Stores Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Shift Leader to coordinate store operations and lead the team to ensure an excellent customer shopping trip. You will open/close the store, manage daily priorities, and support the Store Manager with events and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community.
• Open/close the store and arrange duty cover, keeping customers and colleagues safe.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for daily queries.
• Support the Store Manager with seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well presented.
• Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to customers.
• Ensure POS and shelf edge labels reflect what good looks like.
• Take immediate action on overcharges and prevent recurrence.
• Proactively manage queues to deliver a great shopping trip.
• Coordinate colleagues to meet daily priorities and manage breaks around trade patterns.
• Be knowledgeable about the store and drive practical improvements.
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same.
• Deliver clear communication to the team and keep them informed.
• Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager.
• Always put the customer first and consider their needs in everything.
• Resolve customer queries promptly, leaving customers satisfied.
• Adapt service to meet individual customer needs.
• Recognise and celebrate colleagues delivering great service.
• Address obstacles to delivering great service and remove blockers.
• Ensure the store is adequately staffed and source cover for short-term absences.
• Act as a trained Keyholder for the store and respond to alarm calls when needed.
• Monitor internal communications and ensure timely action and messaging.
• Coordinate colleagues to meet customer and store needs, reporting issues to the Store Manager.
• Balance time between service and replenishment areas.
• Support absence management and conduct return-to-work interviews when required.
• Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner to escalate issues promptly.
