Job summary

Marks & Spencer plc (UK) is hiring a Shift Lead to help run the store during busy trading hours. You’ll combine hands-on service with leadership responsibility, guiding colleagues and keeping a smooth flow on the shop floor.

You will lead by example, support the team through peak periods, coordinate tasks, and ensure high standards of service, cleanliness and stock availability while using store systems to drive great results.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent leadership and hands-on store-floor skills.
• Willingness to work across key trading hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead the floor during key trading hours to deliver fast, efficient service.
• Serve customers, stock shelves, and support tills while staying hands-on.
• Coordinate tasks and allocate resources to keep the store ready to trade.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and stock availability.
• Be a role model, share best practices, and foster an inclusive team environment.
• Use store systems and digital tools to support operations.
