Job summary

Shift Engineers required in Nottingham for a growing industrial processing business. The role focuses on multi-skilled maintenance of fully automated production and packaging machinery, with an electrical bias and exposure to boilers/steam systems.

Shift pattern is 12 hours with 4 days on, 4 off, covering days and nights. Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship, strong fault diagnosis skills, and experience in FMCG environments.

Qualifications

• Multi-Skilled Engineers with an electrical bias.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering – Time-served Apprenticeship.
• Strong problem solving and fault diagnosis skills.
• Experience in fast-paced FMCG manufacturing/production.
• Experience with boilers & steam systems advantageous.
• Experience on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMIs & SCADA Systems.
• Bonus for 17th/18th Edition.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant and packaging machinery and site services.
• Steam & boiler system maintenance.
• Follow PPM schedules efficiently.
• Electrical fault finding and modifications of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and control panels.
• Mechanical repair and fault finding.
• Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives and valves.
• PLC electrical fault finding.

Shift Engineers—Nottingham—£45,500 + Overtime

12hr Shifts - 4on 4off Days & Nights

Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount within their engineering team, they are looking for 2 multi-skilled shift engineers, with an electrical bias.

Role & Responsibilities of a Shift Engineer:

• To carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvement and modification or upgrade of plant, fully automated production & packaging machinery and site services.
• Steam & boiler system maintenance
• Follow PPM schedules efficiently & effectively
• Electrical fault finding & modifications of PLC's, HMi's, SCADA Systems and Control Panels
• Mechanical repair and fault finding
• Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives, valves
• PLC - electrical fault finding

Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be a Shift Engineer:

• Multi-Skilled Engineers - but must be electrically biased
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering - Time-served Apprenticeship
• Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
• Knowledge of production environment, continuous improvements & development
• Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
• Must have worked in fast-paced environment - FMCG manufacturing/production
• Have experience of working on boilers & steam systems advantageous
• Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi's & SCADA Systems
• Bonus if have 17th / 18th Edition
