Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking an electrically biased Shift Engineer for a food manufacturing site in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The role offers 4 on 4 off days (10:30am-11pm) and a salary of £49,000 per year plus benefits.

You will perform PPM, reactive and predictive maintenance on high-speed production lines, fault find both electrically and mechanically, and support continuous improvement projects within a small team.

Qualifications

• Must be a multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias.
• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in electrical engineering.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Problem solver with strong prioritisation skills.
• Able to react to breakdowns safely and efficiently.
• Electrical & mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• Desirable knowledge of steam boilers.
• Desirable hydraulics, pneumatics, welding.

Responsibilities

Do you want to work for a food manufacturer, part of a multi-national UK group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to growth within the engineering team, they are looking for an electrically biased shift engineer to join their small team of 4 engineers.

Role & responsibilities of a maintenance engineer

• Carrying out PPM, reactive & predictive maintenance/breakdown analysis
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs & PPM’s
• Working on various high-speed food production lines, processing & packaging machinery
• Site services & facilities maintenance
• Support project work and continuous improvement activities
• PLC & control panels - electrical fault finding & repairs

Knowledge, skills & experience needed to be a maintenance engineer

• Must be a multi-skilled engineer - electrically biased
• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in electrical engineering
• Previously have worked in some form of fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Be a problem solver, approachable, with good prioritisation skills
• Able to react to breakdowns effectively, safely and efficiently
• Both electrical & mechanical fault-finding capabilities
• Ideally have knowledge of steam boilers
• Desirable experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding
