Job summary

Hunter Selection | B Corp™ is seeking an electrically biased Shift Engineer to join a fast-growing food manufacturing business in the UK. The role covers planned and unplanned maintenance on high-speed packaging lines, with a focus on PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems, plus electrical and mechanical fault finding.

You'll work in a fast-paced FMCG environment requiring strong problem-solving skills, with opportunities for progression and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum.
• Ideally HNC / HND qualification.
• Fast-paced FMCG manufacturing experience required.
• Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of PLCs, automation and control systems, HMIs.
• Experience with motors, inverters, VSDs, sensors, switches, pneumatics and gearboxes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on high-speed production and packaging machinery.
• Work on control panels, HMIs, PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Deal with motors, inverters, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes and bearings.
• Perform mechanical fabrication, fitting and welding.

Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturers that is going through a lot of progressive growth with the UK's supermarkets. Due to expansion within the team, they are looking for an electrical biased shift engineer to join.

Role & responsibilities of a Shift Engineer:

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery
• Working on control panels, HMi's, PLC's, SCADA Systems
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
• Dealing with motors, VSD's, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a Shift Engineer:

• Multi skilled engineer - ideally electrically biased
• NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
• Ideally HNC / HND qualified
• Must have worked in some form of fast-paced / FMCG manufacturing industry
• Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC's, automation & control systems, HMi's
• Worked on motors, inverters, VSD's, sensors, switches, pneumatics, gearboxes
