Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for equipment repair.
• Welding & fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems is desired.
• Self-starter that works as a team member under management direction.
• Ability to prioritize work and follow through with repairs.
• Ability to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
• Must have basic hand tools or willing to invest in them.
• Safety conscious – cares about own and others' safety.
• Ability to frequently lift to 50 lbs and occasionally 65 lbs from floor to shoulder level.
• Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting.
• Requires repetitive movements, like hammering and turning wrenches.
• Exposure to heat, cold, noise, and mechanical/electrical fume.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, inspections and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, trailers and cargo tanks.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair air, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform a wide variety of maintenance and diagnostic functions on bulk liquid handling equipment; PTOs, pumps, meters, reels, etc.
• Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
• Must understand and properly use all tooling needed for cargo tank repairs.
• Maintains general housekeeping by keeping shop clean and free from oil, fluids, etc.
