Job summary

Morgan Hunt is partnering with a leading homelessness charity to recruit a Service Manager for a 12-month temporary contract in Manchester. You will oversee two supported accommodation services, lead a team of 13 staff, and ensure high quality, safe, and outcomes-focused support for young people aged 18-25.

The role requires strong frontline leadership, safeguarding, risk assessment, and collaboration with local authorities and commissioners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supported accommodation or homelessness services.
• Experience leading a team delivering frontline services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection practices.
• Experience with risk assessment and recording outcomes.
• Ability to produce high-quality reports and use IT systems for data capture.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for two services and supervise 13 staff.
• Ensure contractual obligations and performance standards are met.
• Maintain staffing levels, rotas, and deployment of resources.
• Supervise, coach, and appraise staff; address development needs.
• Provide direct client support via phone and in person drop-ins; monitor service quality.
• Represent the organisation at meetings with local authorities, commissioners and partners.
