Service Engineer

Location : Victory Road, Derby, DE24 8EL

Job Type : Full Time, Permanent

Hours : 38 hours per week (overtime available)

Salary : £32,000 - £39,000 (dependant on experience and skills)

Our UK facility is co located on the Rolls-Royce campus on Victory Road, Derby, our largest UK customer.

We are close to the A50, M1 and M42 and within a short commute time from Derby, Nottingham and Leicester.

About the role :

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer who is looking to develop their skills further whilst working alongside a skilled team in a fast-paced environment. This role will require collaborative working with a diverse team to aid the service provision. The role will involve the servicing, inspecting, repairing and testing of Ground Support and Lifting equipment in house and on site. This is a customer facing role working both independently and as part of a team across sites predominately in the UK.

Responsibilities :

  • Inspection and testing of lifting equipment on and off site
  • Safety Inspections of lifting equipment and plant machinery to comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations
  • Servicing, repair and maintenance of airframe tooling and ground support equipment
  • Modification of lifting equipment
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the UK Management team.

About you :

  • LEEA (or similar) qualified
  • NVQ Level 3 / Level 2 Mechanical Engineering is desirable
  • Proven level of competency under LOLER & PUWER regulations
  • Some knowledge or experience of electrical maintenance would be advantageous
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Competent in reading of technical drawings and associated documentation
  • IPAF, CSCS and counterbalance qualifications would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports of work and related documentation

Essential :

  • Valid driving licence and passport.
  • Willingness to travel regularly in the UK
  • Willingness to travel worldwide if required
  • Ability to use an ERP system is desirable but not essential.
