Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out regular testing, servicing, and inspection of fire safety systems and building services equipment.
  • Recording outcomes on our asset management system using mobile devices.
  • Reporting faults, malfunctions, or safety issues found during inspections.
  • Raising urgent orders and repairs where required.
  • Working with the wider Building Services team to improve consistency.

Job description
Job Overview

We are looking for a Building Services Testing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be the go-to person for testing, inspecting, and maintaining PA Housing's fire safety systems and building services equipment. From fire alarms to emergency lighting, you’ll ensure our homes and buildings are safe, compliant, and working exactly as they should. The role will primarily be onsite, covering South East London with occasional visits to South West and Croydon, so you must be comfortable driving a van around London.

Additional Role Requirements
  • DBS check required
  • Full valid driving licence
What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out regular testing, servicing, and inspection of fire safety systems and building services equipment (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, AOVs, extinguishers, lifts, and more)
  • Recording outcomes on our asset management system (Keystone) using mobile devices
  • Reporting faults, malfunctions, or safety issues found during inspections
  • Raising urgent orders and repairs where required
  • Working with the wider Building Services team to improve consistency and share best practice

Salary and Benefits

£30,951, increasing to £32,266 upon successful completion of probation.

Standard/enhanced DBS check required. A standard DBS check will show any spent and unspent convictions. As the role involves regular visits/support of PA Housing residents in their own homes, we must ensure appropriate precautions regarding who visits them. Candidates with unspent convictions will undergo a risk assessment to understand the circumstances and any remedial action required. Suitable references must also be obtained prior to commencement of employment.
