Job summary

Poplar HARCA seeks a Service Charge Analyst to join the Finance Directorate in East London. The role focuses on preparing budgets, forecasts and reconciliations for service charges, ensuring accurate apportionment per lease provisions and robust financial controls.

You will analyze spend against scheme assumptions, maintain the scheme register, validate charging structures, and support dispute validation through financial and lease analysis. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Prepare detailed annual service charge budgets, estimates and actuals.
• Ensure service charge costs are apportioned per lease provisions.
• Analyse estimates and expenditure against scheme assumptions.
• Maintain the service charge scheme register and data accuracy.
• Validate scheme setup, cost codes and charging structures.
• Produce journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, forecasts and reconciliations for service charge schemes.
• Ensure charges are apportioned correctly based on leases and methodologies.
• Analyse budgets against scheme register assumptions and update records.
• Maintain and update the service charge scheme register and data.
• Review scheme setup, cost codes, and charging structures for accuracy.
• Process journals, accruals, prepayments and any adjustments as required.
• Support disputes through financial and lease analysis with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance, Housing, Repairs, Development and other teams.
• Contribute to improving service charge procedures and documentation.
