About the Business

Are you looking to grow your career within a rapidly expanding company? We have the opportunity for a Service Charge Accountant to join a well-respected property business based in Birmingham City Centre. The Service Charge Accountant will play a crucial role in managing sites all over the UK within a people‑focussed finance team.

Main Duties
  • Prepare and complete annual financial statements and year-end accounts
  • Coordinate with external auditors, responding to queries and supporting the completion of audits
  • Work closely with property management teams, clients, directors, suppliers, and external advisors as required
  • Ensure finalised accounts and reports are distributed within agreed timescales
  • Upload approved budgets and generate service charge demands, invoices, and forecast statements
  • Prepare statutory notices in line with legislative requirements where applicable
  • Reconcile service charge accounts to client records when required
  • Liaise with clients regarding cost recharges relating to vacant properties
  • Produce management information and financial reports on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Raise and issue customer invoices in accordance with agreed billing schedules
  • Respond to routine correspondence in a professional, timely, and customer-focused manner
  • Support general administrative tasks, including fund transfers and maintenance of customer records
  • Assist with credit control activities as needed
