Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Service Advisor in Hatfield. The role is based on Monday to Friday hours, with Saturday mornings on a rota. Salary is up to £32,000 plus a bonus, with uncapped OTE of 45k+.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling servicing and repairs, booking workshops, and communicating progress throughout the service journey. You will support after-sales, collaborate with workshop controllers, and assist the Service Manager to keep a busy department

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor in a car dealership, bodyshop, or independent garage.
• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers when they arrive for servicing and repairs as the primary contact.
• Book vehicles into the workshop and provide updates to customers during the service.
• Support after-sales by working with workshop controllers and the Service Manager.
• Manage customer expectations with clear communication and high service standards.
• Upsell products and services to customers to contribute to department growth.

Service Advisor Duties

• Greet and assist customers when they arrive for scheduled and unscheduled servicing and repairs, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Book vehicles into the workshop, maintain regular updates to customers throughout the service process.
• Support the after-sales function by working closely with workshop controllers and assisting the Service Manager in the efficient running of a busy department.
• Manage customer expectations professionally, ensuring transparent communication and a high level of service at every touchpoint.
• Upsell additional products and services to both new and returning customers, contributing to departmental growth.

Key Requirements
