Duties of a Service Advisor:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all service customers, providing a welcoming and professional experience
- Handle customer enquiries efficiently in person and over the phone
- Book vehicles in for service, MOT, or repairs accurately and record all information correctly
- Liaise with the workshop team to provide updates on vehicle progress
- Explain maintenance work, costs, and timescales clearly and transparently to customers
- Proactively promote additional products and services such as service plans, warranties, and accessories
- Process invoices, payments, and warranty documentation with attention to detail
- Manage aftersales administration, including warranty claims and follow-up calls
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and retention, ensuring a seamless customer journey
Requirements of a Service Advisor:
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer service role within the motor trade
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure within busy service schedules
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and IT proficiency
- A proactive attitude with a focus on up-selling and achieving targets
