Job summary

Arc UK in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Service Advisor to join a franchised car dealership following an internal promotion. You will deliver high quality customer service at the service reception, ensuring timely vehicle repairs and clear communication with technicians and customers.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to prioritise work, maintain documentation and handle invoicing while keeping customers informed throughout the service

Qualifications

• Good mechanical knowledge of cars and parts.
• Excellent communication, organisation and inter-personal skills.
• Good attention to detail and flexibility; able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Motor trade experience preferred but not essential; customer-facing experience is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of customer service on the service reception desk, ensuring clear communication between technicians and customers.
• Ensure timely, courteous and effective repair of vehicles within dealership policies.
• Liaise with the Service Manager to optimise work flow, considering workforce skills and costs.
• Ensure all work is invoiced correctly and payments received, handling customer queries within policy.
• Maintain close liaison with customers to maximise retention and satisfaction.
• Coordinate collection and delivery of vehicles, including hire/loan cars as required.

My client an award winning business requires a Service Advisor due to internal promotion.

OTE £34.9K uncapped

Our client based in the Burton On Trent area has requested our assistance in looking for a dedicated Service Advisor working with the successful team in their franchised leading brand car dealership

• Typically 42.5 hours per week Mon – Fri plus 1 in 2 Saturday morning paid at time and a half (hopefully going to 1 in 3).

The Role:

• To provide high levels of customer service on the service reception desk, ensuring there is good communication between Technicians and customers, ensuring their vehicles are ready on time to the agreed standard.
• To ensure the service customers receive prompt, courteous and effective repair of their vehicles within the guidelines of the policies and procedures of the dealership.
• To liaise with the Service Manager regarding the most effective way of carrying out the work required, taking account of the skills of the workforce, the priorities of the business and the cost implication.
• To ensure all work is correctly invoiced and payment received, handling customer queries courteously and within company policy at all times.
• To maintain close liaison with customers, to ensure maximum customer retention.
• To ensure effective collection and delivery of customers’ vehicles including administering hire / loan cars as required.
• To be responsible for the standards of appearance, safety and discipline and work within the department.

The Person:

• Good mechanical knowledge of cars and parts be able to provide outstanding customer service
• Have excellent communication, organisation and inter-personal skills
• Possess a good attention to detail be flexible and possess a GSoH
• Be able to comply with all company and manufacturer’s disciplines and procedures
• The Service Advisor will preferably have a Motor Trade experience background but it is essential to have customer facing experience and a confident / influencing style, which are the key components
