Job summary

OC Motor Repairs is seeking a Workshop Controller / Workshop Manager to lead a busy vehicle repair workshop in Telford. You will manage workflow, ensure quality, and support technicians to keep work moving efficiently.

You will coach and develop staff, balance technical understanding with people management, and uphold excellent customer service and standards across the workshop. The role offers a £35,000-£40,000 salary plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous workshop control or management experience.
• Technical background in automotive industry.
• Experience managing a team of 6+ technicians.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of work through the workshop to support timely completion.
• Check the quality of technicians’ work and support a prompt first-time fix.
• Help drive workshop utilisation, efficiency and productivity.
• Coach and support technicians to improve performance and productivity.
• Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and encouraging customer recommendations.
