Job summary

Sword Group is seeking a Senior Workplace Engineer in the United Kingdom to take technical ownership of complex workplace services across managed environments. You will be a hands-on leader, resolving issues and driving improvements in End User Compute, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and identity integration.

The role covers device provisioning, policy enforcement, secure email management, and hybrid meeting-room platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in workplace engineering, endpoint support, Microsoft 365 administration, managed workplace services or enterprise IT operations.
• Certification in Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, identity and access, Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, Apple device management, Jamf, MDM or MAM is valuable.
• ITIL Foundation or relevant security training would also be valuable.
• Experience with hybrid meeting-room services and end-user compute environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead provisioning and lifecycle activity for corporate devices.
• Administer Microsoft365, Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, Zoom, Windows, macOS, iOS and managed device platforms.
• Configure endpoint compliance policies, deployment, update rings, security baselines and CA-related controls.
• Diagnose and resolve secure email issues including mailbox management, transport rules and quarantine handling.
• Lead hybrid meeting-room services setup and improvements for Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
• Investigate recurring service problems and drive improvements with runbooks and standards.
• Use monitoring data to identify deployment failures, compliance drift and user experience issues.
• Coach junior engineers and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
