Job summary

Sword Group in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Senior Workplace Engineer to own complex workplace services across managed environments. You will lead incident resolution, drive improvements and mentor peers in End User Compute, Microsoft 365, endpoint management and hybrid meeting room technology.

The role covers provisioning, security, device management, identity integration and collaboration platforms, with a strong customer-facing aspect and emphasis on practical ITIL-aligned service

Qualifications

• Five or more years in workplace engineering or enterprise IT operations.
• Relevant technical certifications or equivalent practical experience.
• ITIL Foundation or security training is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead provisioning and lifecycle activity for corporate devices (Windows Autopilot, Intune enrolment, builds).
• Administer and improve Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams and Zoom Rooms.
• Configure endpoint compliance, deployment, update rings and security baselines.
• Diagnose secure email issues including transport rules and anti-phishing controls.
• Lead hybrid meeting-room services and maintain AV equipment.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and improve standards and playbooks.
• Use monitoring and service data to spot deployment failures and risks.
• Define support boundaries and escalation paths for live operation.
• Coach engineers with clear technical communication during incidents and changes.
