Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to join our established Water Team with opportunities based across our North and Midlands offices – Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester – while benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model.

You will lead the design of process elements for wastewater and water infrastructure projects, mentor junior staff, lead bids, and ensure delivery to time and budget for major clients.

Qualifications

• Extensive design experience in managing the technical delivery of large-scale water engineering projects with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment; Chartered membership preferred.
• Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring and line management; capable of coordinating across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and review the design of process elements in water and wastewater projects, including site surveys, hydraulic assessments and design documentation.
• Engage in all design stages (Feasibility to Construction Design) and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Lead bids and proposals, interfacing with clients to understand needs and expectations.
• Deliver high-quality designs within budgets and timescales for major clients and projects.
